Once a month each school publishes its monthly calendar that is sent home with students or mailed to school families in the newsletter. School calendars commonly cover: school events, System-wide events, special events (like band concerts or field trips), and other school activities. Also, every year the System publishes its "school days" calendar specifying the dates of school opening, breaks and days off, and when school ends for the summer.
